Homescape powers the online real estate for most major newspapers in the country and helps local agents and brokers market their home listings. In 2005 it acquired Homegain, a leading Bay Area lead generation company, diversifying their classified advertisinig business with a cost-per-action model. The company is part of the Classified Ventures portfolio and competes with the likes of LendingTree, Move.com, and Housevalues.com.
Homescape has generated and spun out its share of local talent. It was originally managed by Matt Wise who is now CEO of Q Interactive (formerly Cool Savings). Then Sam Sebastian then took the helm and grew the business for the five years. He now leads part of Google’s Chicago team. Tim Fagan current runs Homescape and the Homegain division after 5 years as GM of Apartments.com.
