You might be familiar with the CNN airport network -- the mix of CNN news and road warrior targeted ads you see at Gate C3. Tap.TV is extending that model to allow bars, health clubs and restaurants like McDonalds to have a custom TV network. Venues get more relevant content spiced with proprietary ads and promotions. Text messaging, video-on-demand and other interactive features take it beyond vanilla TV.
John effectively created the scanner data industry - first with NPD Group and then in founding IRI (more on his background here). Terry comes from Argonne National Lab where he has been part of the Futures Laboratory. They have teamed with Tim Dorgan formerly a President at Peapod (John was an advisor there). Andrew Parkinson, the Peapod co-founder also sits on the TAP.tv board.
